Judith Annette Fountain, age 77, passed away peacefully December 21, 2022, surrounded by her children and sister at East Carolina Health Duplin Hospital.  Annette was born August 8, 1945, in Kinston, North Carolina to Lou Alice and James Odell Thomas.  On June 19, 1964, Annette married her high school sweetheart, Benny Fountain, who proceeded her in death on Easter day 2021.

Annette loved to work in the yard and would keep everyone busy planting flowers and making her yead beautiful.  When her children were young, she worked hard to make a loving home filled with biscuits, garden fresh vegetables, sweet tea, and handmade clothes.  She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Ninny” instead of Granny.

Annette was a dedicated member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church and taught Sunday School and any other jobs needed within the church.  She was committed to serving and loving the Lord and was thankful for her church family.  “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.” Proverbs 31

Annette is survived by her sister James Lou “Jamie” Murray; her two children: Kahn Fountain and wife Elizabeth Fountain of Pollocksville, and Lou Anna Fountain North and husband Glenn “Buddy” North of Beulaville; and five grandchildren:  Paige Fountain, Kendric Fountain, Landon Hall, Hunter North, and Leah North.

Annette will be laid to rest by her loving husband at the Fountain Cemetery on December 23, 2022.
